Database Development

Very often businesses find that achieving a specific business goal requires information or data that a) isn't currently in the business and b) can not be found from existing suppliers, trade organisations, web searches or other means. Just as common are occasions when you find the information you need in multiple databases but simply don't know how to bring them all together to create a single workable solution.

Review and Collection

Before starting any data development, we seek to understand what the intended purpose of the data is to ensure the most appropriate sources are selected and the correct processes employed. Of course, consideration is given to cost management to ensure budgets are not exceeded.

It is always possible to find a solution within budget but a compromise must be found that balances cost against accuracy and depth of information. A good example of this is an application which is required to locate address information on a map It is possible to provide grid references which locate a property to within 1 metre of it's front door. However, the licence fee of £16,562.50 plus VAT per annum for use of the data on a single PC may deter some companies.

As a compromise you can also locate addresses by just using the Postcode for £150 plus VAT. It locates addresses effectively to the street only but for many applications this is all you need.
