Licence Management

We have over 40 years experience of managing in-house and 3rd party data supplies including all aspects of licensing. Over this time it is often found that organisations encounter several issues or difficulties in data supply:

Duplicate License Agreements

Time pressures and decentralised purchasing can result in the same data being licensed form different data providers or, in cases, even the same data provider. There is always cost benefits in negotiating contracts centrally in these cases where discounts can be achieved by licensing the same data for multiple users from the same supplier.

Standardised Data Supply

Different departments or users within an organisation may licence data separately simply because they require a different file structure, modified data content or format. In many cases, the licences can be consolidated to achieve a single supply contract with a reduced cost and then some simple processes put in place to ensure each user or department received the data they need in the optimum format and structure.

Requirements Review

With annual licences the norm, it is entirely possible that data licences can run for several years when the requirement for them has passed. Data can be required for a specific project and once that project has passed the annual licence is continually paid. An annual review of all data supplies and their current relevance to the business cannot result in substantial cost savings.
